Lawrence Marks, MD, to give symposium's second keynote address today

Today at 10:00 a.m., Lawrence B. Marks, MD, the Dr. Sidney K. Simon Distinguished Professor of Oncology Research and chairman of radiation oncology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., will give his keynote address, "Evolution of Novel Radiation Strategies to Improve Therapeutic Index." The session will be moderated by Laurie E. Gaspar, MD, MBA, chairman of radiation oncology at the University of Colorado Denver in Aurora, Colo.

Standard chemotherapy treatment provides equivalent survival rate to experimental regimen in late-stage lung cancer patients

Adding bavituximab to second-line chemotherapy doubles response rate in late-stage lung cancer patients

Adding the monoclonal antibody bavituximab to docetaxel chemotherapy doubles overall response rate and improves progression-free survival and overall survival in late-stage non-squamous, non-small cell lung cancer (NS-NSCLC) patients who have already received one prior chemotherapy regimen, according to research being presented today.
